ABC Prep Academy Program, Year 1

The ABC Commercial Construction Prep Academy is a hands-on, two-year program designed to introduce high school juniors and seniors to the commercial construction trades with upwardly mobile paths of education and Registered Apprenticeship opportunities leading to essential careers.

Instruction takes place 5 days a week for 2.5 hours per day in the first year. Students may earn up to 3 dual credits through Vincennes University, receive NCCER Core training, and can earn the following industry-recognized certifications OSHA 10, First Aid/CPR, Fall Protection, Confined Spaces, Lockout/Tagout, Forklift, Boom Lift, Scissor Lift, and Skid Steer.

At the end of Junior year, students may interview and receive a paid summer internship with an ABC Member Business. Through this internship opportunity, students may earn 1 additional dual credit with Vincennes University.

  • Students proceeding to year two of the Prep Academy are automatically enrolled in the first year of the ABC Registered Apprenticeship Program of their choosing

Semester Start Dates

The ABC Prep Academy is designed to mirror a typical high school year with classes starting in August. Student placement is typically coordinated through the student's high school. Students and parents considering enrollment in the ABC Prep Academy should speak to their school counselors in the year prior to the intended year of enrollment.
