ABC Prep Academy Program, Year 2

Students in the 2nd year of the Prep Academy are automatically enrolled in the first year of the registered apprenticeship program of their choice, available through the nearest ABC Training Center located in Indianapolis, Muncie, and Lafayette, Indiana. This allows students the advantage of completing the first year of a typically 4-year apprenticeship while in high school!

The coursework consists of three-hours of hands-on instruction and three-hours of online homework per week. Students can earn up to 5 dual credits through Vincennes University and a level-one NCCER certificate. Students may also receive a paid internship opportunity with an ABC Member Business. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided to all students.

Students choosing to continue through the remaining 3 years of the ABC Registered Apprenticeship Program may experience an increase in wages commensurate with their skills and competencies. Employment with an ABC Member Business and the opportunity to continue in their apprenticeship are available upon completion of year 2 of the Prep Academy.

After successfully completing and documenting 8,000 hours of on-the-job learning for four-year programs, graduates may be registered through the US Department of Labor, earn a nationally recognized journeyman license, an NCCER certification, and an Associate of Science, Career/Tech Degree through Vincennes University. Although most trades require 4-years of study. Some trades consist of 2-3 year programs. Through employment with an ABC Member Business, most program completers have no tuition debt!
